DEFINE THE WORD SUCCESS ACCORDING TO YOURSELF
Success is very relative. It is based on the values each other gives to different things.
- Success for someone can mean driving a top-class vehicle.
- Success for someone can mean getting an educational qualification.
- Success for someone can mean getting a promotion in their job.
- Success for someone can be doing their own business.
- Success for someone can mean having the most beautiful wedding ceremony.
- For someone, success can be an investment.
- For someone, success can be life abroad.
- For some, success can be the life of the native country.
- Success for someone can mean travelling around the world.
- For someone, success can mean a life lived in comfort.
- For some, success means physical comfort.
- For someone, success can mean spiritual progress.
This kind of success is very diverse. It cannot be said exactly that it is like this. You can’t put it in a frame saying, ‘The person who does this thing and has this thing is the most successful’. Also, it is impossible to say who is the most successful by comparing ‘I did this while they did this, they did this, and I did this’. Sometimes what you think is valuable may be worthless to someone else. And what you don’t value so much can be priceless to someone else.
Therefore, don’t be so narrow-minded as to think that ‘I am the only one’ by measuring other people’s lives. You don’t need to value someone else’s things. Who are you to value the success of others?
If you look down on what someone else is doing to show that you are more successful than others, if you criticize and compare unnecessarily, it reflects a certain inferiority complex.
If you feel that you are truly successful, there is nothing to measure with others. They really feel whether they are successful or not. No matter what you pretend to do to impress anyone in the world, at the end of the day, if you don’t feel happy, humble, proud, self-satisfied, and comfortable, you won’t really feel successful.
So find success in your own way. Success is not what everyone does. Because everyone is doing it and everyone is saying that you have done the same thing, you may not feel that you are successful.
If you feel the feeling of success differently when the whole world is moving in the same direction, do what you feel.
You can define success if it doesn’t hurt you or anyone else. Don’t get lost looking for it in other people’s way. And don’t be ready to belittle the success of others within your definition.
