According to psychologists, there are four types of intelligence that people should have.

  1. Intelligence Quotient (IQ)
  2. Emotional Quotient (EQ)
  3. Social Quotient (SQ)
  4. Adversity Quotient (AQ)

1.Intelligence Quotient (IQ)

This measures your level of understanding. You need this IQ to solve math, memorize things, and remember lessons. It reflects how well you did on a specific test compared to other people of your age group. While tests may vary, the average IQ on many tests is 100, and 68% of scores lie between 85 and 115.

2. Emotional Quotient (EQ)

This is your ability to get along with others, be punctual, be responsible, be honest, respect boundaries, be humble, genuine and considerate of yourself and others. Measurement is done. And the ability to understand, use, and manage your own emotions in positive ways to relieve stress, communicate effectively, empathize with others, overcome challenges and defuse conflict.

3.Social Quotient (SQ)

This measures your ability to build a network of friends and maintain it over a long period of time. The ratio between social age and chronological age. A social quotient is a parallel concept to an IQ, wherein a score of 100 indicates average performance for age and scores less than 100 indicate below-average functioning.

People with high EQ and SQ are more likely to advance in life and tend to be successful than those with high IQ but low EQ and SQ. Many schools try to improve the IQ levels of the children and they pay less attention to EQ and SQ.

A man with a high EQ and SQ can perform well in a job while having an average IQ level than a man with a high IQ level.

Your EQ level represents your character and your SQ level represents your strength and ability to draw people to you. In particular, you should try to adopt habits that improve your EQ level and SQ level.

4. Adversity Quotient (AQ)

This measure examines your ability to go through rough patches in your life (unpleasant events or painful events) and come out of them without losing your peace of mind or balance. The AQ also has an effect on the student’s mathematics understandability. Hence, it is commonly known as the science of resilience

The AQ is one of the probable indicators of a person’s success in life and is also primarily useful to predict attitude, mental stress, perseverance, longevity, learning and response to changes in the environment.

When faced with troubles and challenges, our AQ level determines what type of people we abandon, who abandons their family, and who contemplates suicide. People with a high AQ level, even if they suffer a breakdown after a disastrous event, quickly understand the disaster and try to rebuild their lives better than before without committing suicide. People with low AQ levels are more likely to commit suicide or harm another person after the event or suffer from long-term post-traumatic stress disorder.

Parents, please expose your children to other areas of life than academics. They should be encouraged to engage in manual labour i.e. work in the house, and outdoor work, encourage to do extra work while studying (but never use work or home car as a punishment), and love sports and arts.

Develop their IQ, as well as their EQ, SQ and AQ. They should become multifaceted people who can do things independently of their parents.

Finally, don’t set the path for your children. Instead, prepare your children with the skills they need to travel on the road.
